Alright, this is the part where we get to rave about ourselves. The good news is, we're fun! Basically, the business was started because our founder is nosey and likes to know the neighborhood gossip. That translated into learning all sorts of great things about downtown San José, Costa Rica and realizing thatvisitors are really missing out.
So, welcome to Barrio Bird Walking Tours. We can never guarantee what local activities you will see on the street, but we do guarantee a fabulous experience in San José, Costa Rica.
Stacey is the founder of Barrio Bird Walking Tours. She loves San José, loves to explore and find a good party. This nice combination makes certain something of interest will be planned for your visit to San José, Costa Rica.
Stacey loves Costa Rican gallo pinto, Salsa Lizano, contemporary Costa Rican artists, parrots in the city, occasional late nights out, live music and yoga.
Stacey does not enjoy too much rain and not enough trips to the beach.
Stacey has learned to come to terms with long bank lines (10 a.m. on a Tuesday is the best time to go), long bus rides (do not drink beforehand, no bathrooms on board, with a neck pillow and eye mask one can get pretty good rest), no street addresses (another reason to hire a guide) and no beer on tap (at least any beer worth drinking). Update: there are now street signs and beer on tap! You've come a long way San José!
